Manchester United vs Atalanta

Manchester United are back in Champions League action on Wednesday evening.

The Red Devils are facing off with Serie A outfit Atalanta in a must-win tie for a number of reasons.

Firstly, Man United have been on a torrid run of form recently, and anything other than three points on Wednesday will no doubt pile even more pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

And secondly, as Atalanta look to be the toughest test of United’s group, they need to win the home leg to ensure they are able to top Group F and give themselves the best chance of getting a kind draw in the last 16.

Man United sent warning ahead of Atalanta

Ahead of the game, Manchester United have been sent a warning about Atalanta.

The warning comes from one of their own players, Amad Diallo, who would of course sign for Man United after breaking into the Italian side’s first-team.

Now, when speaking about Atalanta, Diallo urged Man United not to underestimate them:

“First of all, we must not underestimate Atalanta. If you underestimate Atalanta, you are making a huge mistake. They have got a great coach, a great team and they have got good fans. They press high, they don’t let you play and they put you in difficulty.

“The wingers, [Robin] Gosens and [Ruslan] Malinovsky, are strengths of theirs, they will give you a difficult game. Even when they don’t have the ball, they will run a lot, especially those two. If you lose the ball, then you’re in trouble because they run so much and they’ll get it.”
